Summer Reading Challenge off to a great start

Space Chase, Summer Reading Challenge 2019

Space Chase is an out-of-this-world adventure inspired by the 50th anniversary of the first moon landing.

Children taking part in the Challenge will join our super space family, The Rockets, for a thrilling mission to track down books nabbed by mischievous aliens! Space Chase will feature bespoke artwork from top children's illustrator, Adam Stower, and will celebrate adventure, exploration, reading and fun!

All children taking part are entitled to free admission to Bosworth Battlefield and Donington-le-Heath Manor House by showing their Space Chase folder at reception (one child per full–paying adult).

Children can join in the fun by reading or listening to six library books or e-books throughout the summer and will be able to collect six special stickers - including some smelly ones - for their colourful collector’s folder.

Dates
The challenge starts for Leicestershire on Saturday 6th July and runs to Saturday 7th September.

Ages
The ages this year in Leicestershire Libraries will be 4 years – 12 years. We will be offering pre-school cards and stickers for 0-3s.

Treasure Hunt
We will have a treasure hunt in the library where children have to find 10 Space Chase characters:
